London: Hampton Court Palace

July 19, 2016

Over the weekend, we made it out to Hampton Court Palace, which is known for being the favorite court of King Henry VIII. This is one of those things that you might not see on a list of "Top 10 Things to Do in London" but it has been one of the things I have enjoyed the most on the trip so far. It takes about an hour to get to, though it is only a few miles outside of the city because you have to take a train. The palace and the gardens are beautiful! We happened to be there during a little festival where they had jousting and other fun activities so the whole palace was very lively! Its also very family oriented so there were plenty of things for people of all ages. There were rooms set up throughout the palace in different styles based on the different monarchs who held court there, so there was a really wide range of history! It was awesome especially if you are interested in history!
